Building Personal Resilience in the Outdoors Profession

07-23-2025 09:02 PM

Resilience is essential for those working on the frontlines of outdoor access, equity, and resource management. This session will explore what personal resilience looks like in the outdoor workforce—how to sustain motivation, protect mental health, and stay grounded during uncertainty and change.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Relate to uncertainty and unpredictability in a more empowered manner.

  • Understand the distinction between handling a situation with tolerance versus readiness.

  • Have new context for how to approach uncertainty using a self leadership framework.

  • Gain awareness about the importance of where time and energy is being spent and will be more directed in how to focus on things that boost energy versus drain energy.

Speaker:

  • Greer Van Dyke, Windrose Consulting
