SORP is excited to be hosting a Visitor Use Management (VUM) Workshop at the 2024 Basecamp Conference: Science, Planning, and Management for Outdoor Recreation & Gateway Communities.
The 3-hour visitor use management workshop will be on Wednesday, Oct, 16 in Moab, UT. The afternoon workshop will follow a morning conflict competency training workshop. The VUM workshop will explore the importance of understanding different perspectives and identifying shared values to develop desired conditions for visitor experiences. Note: You must register for the Basecamp Conference to attend this workshop.
Learning Objectives:
Know more about visitor use management and desired conditions
Understand the importance of including different perspectives in desired conditions development
Know there are resources available to support VUM work (including SORP!)
Understand there is not one size fits all approach to desired conditions
Post-Workshop Meetup

After we wrap up the workshop join us for a casual meetup. This will be a great opportunity to continue conversations and connect with others interested and working in visitor use management.
